Azucarera El Viejo

Its cane comes from the cantons of Carrillo, Bagaces, Nicoya, and Liberia, El Viejo is a mill
located in La Guinea de Filadelfia, Guanacaste.

Established in 1958, it is responsible for 80% of the cane production in the area. It has a milling capacity of about 7,900 metric tons of cane per day, and can produce white sugar, special white sugar, and Zukra raw sugar. It also has an energy co-generation plant that sells its services to external companies.  64% of the producers deliver between 1 and 250 metric tons of cane per year.
